Federal Money
Challenge: |
A non-profit organization seeks to obtain federal funds to help make local infrastructure improvements. |
Solution: |
Mayforth identified the potential resources and created a plan of action to solicit funds. After the client approved the plan, Mayforth sprung into action, prepping clients for Congressional visits and accompanying them to Washington. We introduced them to economic development administration officials, drafted an application on their behalf and worked to secure Congressional letters of support for the application. |
Results: |
The client was able to initiate and complete their project within the desired timeframe using outside funding that didn’t impact local taxes. |
Legislation
Challenge: |
A local start-up information systems company was introducing a new product that it wanted to pilot (but lacked funding to execute) in Rhode Island. |
Solution: |
Mayforth presented the information system as an infrastructure investment that would provide long-term savings to local and state officials, including leaders in the state legislature and town/city officials. |
Results: |
By framing the adoption of this information system as a sound investment strategy, Mayforth was able to help the client obtain enough community service grants, along with local and state funds, to launch Rhode Island as a successful pilot program. |
Coalition
Challenge: |
Trade organization identified an ambitious legislative agenda to meet their constituents’ target objectives. |
Solution: |
Mayforth advocated on behalf of the client at the general assembly, drafted legislation, had it introduced, garnered support for the legislation, and testified on behalf of it before respective committees. |
Results: |
Passage of the client’s entire legislative package. |
